Inspired by Richard Louv, “Last Child in the Woods”, we are a group of families who meet regularly to allow our children to explore nature and the outdoors together. We are inspired by and in awe of nature and want our children to learn to love and appreciate the wonder that is our world.
Children of all ages are welcome. We have runners, walkers, and riders (backpacks/slings/sometimes carried but unfortunately not strollers) and would love for you to join us. We visit both state and county parks in Bucks, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties, Pennsylvania. In the future, we are planning a visit to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary during the fall migration and may tackle a small portion of the Appalachian Trail. We have also planned a camping trip for early fall.
We have hikes scheduled for August 22, September 19, and October 24. We will likely continue meeting through the late fall and winter as well. Additionally, we may add other fun outdoor activities to our schedule, if there is an interest. For more information, please email outdoorswithkids@gmail.com.
